The Stag ...

The Stag

The breeze frolicked leisurely among the leaves
Making the music of the woods
And I walked my chosen path
to nowhere in particular.

As I made my way, a sound I heard, eyes I felt
From the corner of my vision, a stag
Looming large, majestic yet timid.
If I look too close, into the forest he blends.

When ignored he reappears
I focus on my path,
Closer still he comes
Finally beside me, with me he travels...my companion

So too with life, when pursued,
Success will elude
When focused on our calling, find us it will
Our companion it shall be.
